The meeting of the Ministers of Health of the Visegrad Group took place on June 25, 2009 in Warsaw and was chaired by Mrs. Ewa Kopacz, Minister of Health of the Republic of Poland and Mr. Marek Twardowski, Undersecretary of State in the Polish Ministry of Health. The following guests participated in the meeting: Mr. Tamás Székely, Minister of Health of the Hungarian Republic, Mr. Daniel Klačko, Vice Minister of Health of the Slovak Republic and Mr. Michael Vit, Vice Minister of Health of the Czech Republic.
The meeting was devoted to the subject of effective methods of HIV/AIDS prevention. During the meeting the ministers exchanged their experiences and views as regards HIV/AIDS prevention and combat as well as other issues of reciprocal interests such as pharmaceutical policy. The meeting was also to discuss the cooperation among the Ministries of Health of the Visegrad Group countries and its possible consolidation at the end of Polish presidency and at the beginning of the Hungarian presidency in July.
During the session a press briefing with the participation of the invited Ministers was organized.
