The meeting of the Ministers of Culture of the Visegrad Group countries was held in the building of the Archdiocesan Museum in Olomouc on June 20th 2008.
The ministerial meeting was preceded by a ministerial experts' meeting, which took place in Olomouc on June 19th 2008. In preparation for the Report of Experts for the following meeting of the Ministers of Culture of the next day at the experts' meeting the topics below were discussed:
- Report of Experts on the progress made in the approved and implemented V4 programmes for the 18th meeting of the Ministers of Culture of the Visegrad countries.
- Accomplishments of the International Visegrad Fund.
- New possible directions and commercial use of the Visegrad Anthology.
- Ways of a broader cooperation within V4+ and MERCOSUR.
The Ministers of Culture of the Visegrad countries evaluated the V4 cooperation and emphasized its significance as a support of the European Commission's goals, which is enhancing the importance of culture and cultural diversity in the globalising world through the intercultural dialogue.
The following commitments were made at the meeting:

The Ministers accepted the Experts report on the actual implementation status of the projects of the V4 Countries.

The Ministers expressed their acknowledgement of the report on the progress achieved in the preparation of new projects.

The Ministers welcomed the continuation of the Visegrad Anthology joint project and they appreciated the efforts made by the V4 editors and experts to achieve this common goal.

The Ministers of Culture of the Visegrad countries discussed new possible directions of the Visegrad Literary Anthology project and they are fully supporting this project and welcome the Slovak initiative to be implemented.

The Ministers recommended the joint project of Visegrad Library for the award of a grant from the International Visegrad Fund and they propose that the Programme is considered as one of the grant priorities.

The Ministers welcomed and supported the follow-up of the Colloquium of Library Experts from the V4 countries. They appreciated the preparation of the 2nd meeting to take place in the Moravian Library in Brno from July 6th to 8th 2008 and the information about the third meeting to be held in Warsaw in May 2009.

The Ministers agreed on further activities of the Visegrad Working Group analysing the effects of economic and social transformation on cultural heritage in the Visegrad Group member states and they welcomed the report on the bilateral meeting held in the Moravian Gallery in Brno on May 25th 2008 its keynote being Culture in the light of Transformation—the experience of the Czech Republic and the Republic of Poland.

Based on the conclusions of the last meeting of the Ministers of Culture of V4 countries and within the Year of European Intercultural dialogue the Ministers are open to an extended cooperation in the V4+ and MERCOSUR formats.

The Ministers welcomed the information on the preparation of the Czech Presidency in the Council of the EU in the first half of 2009.

The Ministers awarded the International Visegrad Prize of 2007 to International festival Theatre Plzeň, Czech Republic. Further nomination would be announced by the 19th Meeting of Ministers.
The participating sides agreed that the next meeting of the Ministers of Culture of the Visegrad Group countries will be held in Wrocław early 2009 in Poland.
